P T-symmetric microring lasers

Abstract

We show that parity-time-symmetric notions can be harnessed to enforce stable single-mode lasing in highly multi-moded resonators. Undesirable modes are reliably suppressed over a broad bandwidth, without the need for additional filters or frequency-selective components.
