Highly efficient grating mirror enables high power fundamental mode thin-disk laser emitting in the green by SHG

Abstract

There are several benefits of green laser radiation for laser material processing of copper [1]. For example, deep penetration welding of copper [2] is more efficient in the green wavelength region due to an approximately 7-10 times higher absorption of copper than in the commonly used near infrared region. High power green laser radiation leads to more reproducible and stable processes in the electronic industry where scattered light can lead to damages and destruction of the processed components. [3]
