Abstract

Vortex laser beams exhibit an annular spatial profile and orbital angular momentum [1,2], these properties have resulted in their use across a broad range of applications [2,3]. To further increase the versatility of vortex laser beams, it is necessary to improve the range of wavelengths that can be generated, and also exercise control over the topological charge of the vortex beam and its spatial profile. In this work, we combine two non-linear processes, Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) and sum frequency generation (SFG) to produce emission at 559 nm within a self-Raman vortex laser.
