Abstract

Transparent material modification with ultrafast laser pulses has attracted great scientific interest in the recent decade [1]. Depending on the laser pulse properties, homogeneous zones of modified refractive index can be implemented in dielectric material and with appropriate patterning algorithm, various photonic devices could be fabricated. Many different elements have been demonstrated in various types of glasses such as waveguides, diffractive gratings, microchannels and etc.
