Abstract
In this contribution, we report on the approach of coherently combined spatially separated amplifiers to increase the output power and pulse energy compared to a single amplifier emission. For continuous-wave and Q-switched laser systems this is a widely known concept [1-3]. Recently, the concept of coherent combining was adapted to femtosecond CPA systems in a low power proof of principle experiment [4]. Compared to the CW and Q-switched case, additional aspects have to be considered when combining femtosecond pulses, like dispersion management and nonlinear effects.
