Abstract
The extension of coherent supercontinuum sources to the mid-infrared is of considerable interest for spectroscopic applications. Octave-spanning, CEO-stabilized supercontinua have been previously demonstrated in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) reverse proton exchanged (RPE) waveguides [1]. Based on our results, this technology can be used to generate a high power spectral density in a separate spectral region from a 100-fs input pulse via a χ(2)-based self frequency shift (SFS).
