Abstract

Wettability control of materials has gained considerable interest over the last decade, due to the wide range of possible applications, including self cleaning surfaces, controllable drag delivery or microfluidic devices. Wetting properties of surfaces depend on the synergistic effect of the free energy of the surface in question as well as its geometry. Hence, the control of the geometry and the chemistry of a surface, results in the tailoring of its wetting behaviour [1].
