Abstract
The generation of few-cycle, CEP stable pulses in the mid-IR is of great interest for many applications, ranging from medical and industrial applications to spectroscopy and strong field physics. In the last example mid-IR lasers can produce shorter attosecond pulses [1] and allow improved discrimination between tunnelling and multi-photon processes. Here we simulate the generation of such pulses via optical parametric chirped pulse amplification (OPCPA), which supports arbitrarily high repetition rates, is in principle CEP-preserving, and offers the possibility of direct amplification of few-cycle pulses.
