GaN Diode Laser Pumped Solid-State Lasers in the Visible and UV Spectral Region

Abstract

Materials doped with trivalent Praseodymium Pr3+ are in particular interesting for short wavelength solid-state lasers in the visible spectral range. The energy level scheme of Pr3+ offers several efficient fluorescence and laser transitions in the blue (~ 485 nm), green (~ 525 nm), orange (~ 605 nm), red (~ 640 nm), and deep red (~ 695 nm, ~ 720 nm) spectral region as shown in Fig. 1.
