Abstract

Continuous-wave pumped Raman fibre lasers are a versatile light source commonly used in many applications such as Telecommunications or optical sensing. This laser can indeed deliver wavelength that are not currently reachable by other source. Moreover, it is well known that the Raman gain bandwidth in fibre is very broad. Nevertheless, the idea to use this bandwidth in order to generate cw-pumped source has emerged only very recently [1,2], In other hand, it has been shown that dynamics of Raman fibre lasers highly depends on the states of polarization of the light field propagation inside the laser cavity, the Kerr effect being the main physical ingredient to lead to temporal instabilities of the Stokes output.
