Abstract

Techniques for arbitrary pulse synthesis from short laser pulses are attractive in nonlinear optics. To this extent, various approaches have been developed, including adaptive optics [1], space- time conversion [2] and acousto-optic programmable dispersive filters [3], Recently, arbitrary pulse shaping based on second-harmonic generation (SHG) in engineered quasi-phase-matched (QPM) crystals was discussed in the undepleted pump approximation.
