Abstract

Blue lasers have a large number of applications, such as high density optical data storage, or biomedical and fluorescence spectroscopy. Different technologies have been developed to reach the blue range; especially frequency doubled diode-pumped solid-state lasers. In this way, classical wavelengths are 457 nm (frequency doubled Nd doped vanadate laser) or 473 nm (frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser).
