Single-shot, sub-picometer-resolution wavemeter using topologically enhanced optical activity of OAM fiber modes

Abstract

We demonstrate an instantaneous wavelength-measurement technique with record resolution < 0.3pm at 1 μm wavelengths by exploiting the inherent circular birefringence of OAM fiber modes yielding giant, tailorable optical activity.
