Apodization techniques for side-lobes suppression in silicon photonics waveguide gratings

Abstract

We demonstrate c-band and o-band silicon waveguide gratings with a side-lobe suppression ratio of 36.6 and 27.1 dB, respectively, by modulating the corrugation width or grating offset with apodization function while remaining zero-dc effective index change.
