Peculiarities of near-room-temperature thermal-emission measurements using FTIR spectroscopy

Abstract

We investigated the impact of multi-source background emission on thermal-emission measurements using FTIR spectroscopy. We found that a backward-emitting background in the interferometer can lead to partial or total cancellation of the measured thermal emission.
