Noninvasive Glucose Measurements in Skin using Mid-IR Quantum Cascade Laser Spectroscopy

Abstract

A mobile sensor using a quantum cascade laser and integrating sphere has been implemented to detect glucose noninvasively in human skin. Principal component analysis of the backscattered spectra closely matched the known glucose absorption spectrum.
