An Automated Raman Device for Gout Diagnosis

Abstract

This study reports an automated Raman device to identify crystals in synovial aspirates from patients with gout symptoms. Combined with sample preparation, the device could diagnose monosodium urate monohydrate crystals in a point-and-shoot sense.
