Abstract

We firstly report here a novel method for suppression of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in optical fibers by using specially designed and fabricated tilted fiber Bragg gratings. It opens new opportunity for SBS suppression in fiber communication, fiber sensing, and narrow-bandwidth high-power fiber laser systems.
