Detection of Viral Infection and Subsequent Apoptosis in Cells by Raman Scattering Microspectroscopy

Abstract

We detected infection of cloned porcine kidney (CPK) cells by porcine parvoviruses using Raman scattering microscopy. The spectral change in the early stage after viral infection was clearly distinguished from that in the late stage of induced apoptosis.
