A Bidirectional 256-Gb/s PAM4 VCSEL-Based Fiber-FSO Converged System

Abstract

For the first time, a bidirectional 256-Gb/s PAM4 VCSEL-based Fiber-FSO converged system over 25-km SMF transport with 500-m free-space transmission is demonstrated. It develops a framework for providing high downstream/upstream transmission capacity with good performance.
