Temperature Sensor by Using Highly Germanium-doped Fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate a temperature sensor by splicing a short highly germanium-doped fiber to a single mode fiber with a bowknot-type taper. The sensor possesses miniature size of 1.4 mm and high sensitivity of 100 pm/°C.
