A Bidirectional Fiber-FSO/Wireless Convergence

Abstract

A bidirectional fiber-FSO/wireless convergence is proposed and demonstrated. One optical sideband (y-polarization) is transmitted to effectively reduce fiber dispersion due to a span of 40-km SMF and distortion due to the beating among multiple sidebands.
