Generation of Megawatt Peak-power Femtosecond Pulses from an Excessive-Normal-Dispersion Fiber Laser

Abstract

We demonstrate a passively mode-locked fiber laser with excessive normal dispersion (ENDi) yielding 230 nJ pulses with 69 fs dechirped duration. Numerical simulation indicates the energy scalability to over 1 μJ is possible.
