Abstract

Recent progress of silicon-based on-chip hybrid multiplexers is reviewed as a key element enabling more than one (de)multiplexing techniques simultaneously, including wavelength-division- multiplexing (WDM), polarization-division-multiplexing (PDM), and mode-division-multiplexing (MDM).
