Self-organized nonlinear gratings for ultrafast nanophotonics

Abstract

We show how reconfigurable, self-organizing grating structures can be written in silicon-nitride nanophotonic waveguides, using femtosecond pulses. These gratings provide simultaneous phase- and group-velocity matching for efficient broadband second-harmonic generation.
