Simplified signal processing for high-speed PON

Abstract

We have experimentally demonstrated symmetric 4×25 Gb/s TWDM-PON and 50 Gb/s TDM-PON based on 10G class devices. Low-cost DMLs are used as transmitter and simple optical signal process is used for bandwidth equalization and DSP simplification.
