Abstract

Ceramic Yb:LuAG gain medium were fabricated and lased in the thin disk architecture. An output power of 1.91 kW was achieved with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 72.2% using a smaller disk while a larger disk achieved an output power of 6.66 kW with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 62.7%.
