Abstract

A high energy of b-cut Tm, Ho:YAlO3 laser is reported in the paper. The laser operated in continuous wave or acousto-optical Q-switched mode at 2.12 µm. In Q-switch mode, the output average power of 9.92 W was achieved at the pulse repetition frequency of 10 kHz with a 66-ns pulse width. Moreover, the energy per pulse of 8.63 mJ in 65 ns was acquired at 1 kHz with a 132.8-kW peak power.
