Abstract
High concentration Tm3+-doped La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 photonic crystal fibers are firstly fabricated by the stack-and-draw technology. The fiber core Tm3+-doped La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 glass is prepared by the conventional melt-quenching technique. The optical properties including the absorption property, fluorescence property and laser performance of the Tm3+-doped photonic crystal fibers are experimentally investigated. The results suggest that Tm3+-doped La2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 photonic crystal fibers have potential applications in high power fiber laser operating at 2μm.
