Design and Fabrication of a Polarization- Independent HCG

Abstract

We show a design of a single layer cross stripes HCG with polarization-independent broadband reflectivity at 1.55 μm and also fabrication of the HCG on silicon-on-insulator (SOI), which demonstrates the polarization-independent reflectivity as designed.
