The Acousto-Optic Effect Applied to Bragg Grating Writing

Abstract

The application of the acousto-optic effect to an optical fiber during Bragg grating inscription is demonstrated. Through the excitation of flexural or longitudinal acoustic waves, different permanent effects are achieved in the gratings.
