Abstract

Efficient continuous-wave laser operation based on Yb:LuAG crystals has been obtained at 1030 and 1047 nm. Stable, subnanosceond passively Q-switched Yb:LuAG/Cr4+:YAG microchip lasers were demonstrated with slope efficiencies of 40%.
