Abstract

Broadband 1.20 μm emission (1G43H4 transition) in Tm3+ - Tb3+/Eu3+ codoped gallogermanate glasses was observed. The population inversion is realized by depleting the lower 3H4 level, and the possible energy transfer processes involved are discussed.
