Absorption of High Intensity Femtosecond Laser Pulses in Plasma

Abstract

The absorption of high intensity, 1014–1020 W cm−2, femtosecond laser pulses is studied using modeling codes and compared to published experimental results to deduce the dependence on polarization, angle of incidence and preformed plasma profiles.
