Photonic crystal band-edge lasers: fabrications, physics, and applications

Abstract

Photonic crystal band-edge lasers possess many advantages over conventional cavity based lasers. Here I will present their fabrications, emission properties, coupling to an optical fiber, and application possibilities for telecommunications and biochemical sensing.
