Abstract

Using a 16-tap PLC-based optical FIR filter, we equalize a 40-Gbps intensity-modulated signal, which is tightly filtered by a 0.42-nm Gaussian filter. The receiver sensitivity is improved by 3 dB with such an equalizer.
