Abstract
We propose a class of nanocavities by combining nanowires and photonic crystal waveguides. Three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain techniques have been used to study the structures, and the simulation results show it is easy to achieve nanocavities with mode volumes less than 2(λ/n)3 and Q values over 106.
