Unambiguous Probe of Surface Chirality Based on Focused Circularly-polarized Light

Abstract

We propose a new probe of surface chirality based on second-harmonic generation and focused circularly-polarized light. We show experimentally that the technique is sensitive only to chirality but not to anisotropy of the sample.
