Self-Configuring Athermal Tunable DS-DBR Laser for Passive Optical Networks

Abstract

We demonstrate a self-tuning athermal laser suitable for PON applications. The cooler-less laser operates up to 70°C with a wavelength accuracy of better than 0.1nm over a 36nm range using an open loop control circuit.
