Low temperature near-field scanning optical microscopy of IR and THz surface-plasmon quantum cascade lasers

Abstract

We present the first scattering type near-field scanning optical microscope operating at low temperature. This instrument is ideal to study infrared and terahertz QCLs combined with metallic photonic crystal resonators and surface plasmon waveguides.
