Photonic band-gap mode due to a topological defect within a photonic crystal fiber cladding

Abstract

We report on properties of a photonic band-gap mode due to a topological defect within a photonic crystal fiber cladding which allows band-gap guidance below the air-line, yielding an unusual dispersion curve.
