RF Linewidth narrowing in Quantum-Dash-Based Passive Mode-Locked Lasers Using Optical Feedback

Abstract

We report on the effect of external optical feedback on a quantum-dash-based passive mode-locked laser. We demonstrate a RF linewidth narrowing from 5.5 kHz to 800 Hz at a 10 GHz frequency.
