Dielectric Tunable Metamaterials with Negative Permeability in Terahertz Range

Abstract

We present metamaterials for the terahertz range consisting of micromachined thin strontium titanate platelets. They display electromagnetic resonances with negative permeability around a frequency which is tunable as the intrinsic material permittivity depends upon temperature.
