Abstract
We show through detailed numerical simulations that the ratio of accumulated dispersion to the maximum nonlinear phase shift inside a highly nonlinear fiber can be used to predict the regenerative capability of regenerators making use of fibers with very different lengths, dispersions, and nonlinear parameters.
