Abstract

Based on coupled-mode equations, we develop a pump interaction model for two-pump phase sensitive optical amplifiers. This model takes dominant pump-pump and signal-pump four-wave mixing sidebands into account, and can be used to determine the optimal wavelength separation when amplifiers’ parameters such as pump power, fiber nonlinearity coefficient, length, and dispersion profile are given.
