Abstract

We use coherent extreme ultraviolet radiation to probe surface acoustic wave propagation in nickel-on-sapphire nanostructures. We observe no acoustic dispersion over SAW wavelengths down to 200nm, meaning the SAW propagation is unaffected by the nanostructure.
