Abstract

The photoluminescence lifetime of individual, air-suspended carbon nanotubes was measured to be 57±7 ps using femtosecond excitation correlation spectroscopy. With an excitation spot size larger than the nanotube, photoluminescence approaches a definite saturation limit.
