Er:Yb-doped Waveguide Amplifier Fabricated in Oxyfluoride Silicate Glass Using Femtosecond Laser Inscription

Abstract

We report for the first time, net gain from a channel waveguide fabricated in Er:Yb doped oxyfluoride silicate glass using femtosecond waveguide inscription. Waveguides were fabricated using the multi-scan technique to control the waveguide cross-section.
