Direct Laser Acceleration of Electrons in the Corrugated Plasma Waveguide

Abstract

Direct electron acceleration by a radially polarized laser pulse can be quasi-phase matched in a corrugated plasma channel [1]. Modest laser pulses (1 mJ, 100fs) could give large gradients (> 10 MV/cm) over many centimeters.
