Artificial Compound-eye Camera and Its Application to Visual Information Processing

Abstract

As an instance of information technology inspired by biological systems, an artificial compound-eye camera is studied. A compact CMOS camera equipped with a microlens array is fabricated, which is utilized for object distance detection and object extraction.
